Cement
goodbye monday blue, the reflectors
2007 Nov 15
From my latest project, tentatively titled Goodbye Monday Blue (in mixed-up tribute to my departed hero Kurt Vonnegut). Cement is a Comes A Time-esque reflection, written in November 1993 and left alone until yesterday, when the band got into a rainy day mode and dusted it off.

on top of a cement sidewalk — under a cloudless sky
you and i had our first embrace — before our first goodbyethen i drove along the freeway — away from the city
saw the skyline in my mirror –- could’ve sworn you were looking at mei don’t want to know anymore
i don’t need to know anymore
Because i know you’re still there
i just know that you’re still thereso now i’m flyin over this memory — on a hazy afternoon
you have to know that i am watching — you have to know i made it through
