this is pretty. one night back in march on an f-train ride into manhattan, billy libby, in their duo form, randomly materialized on the seat across from me. they were warming up for an east village gig and treated the traincar to two and a half minutes of peace. luckily, i eavesdropped them telling another passenger their name before they got off, so this circle is not unbroken.
Jess, 26-yr old African American lesbian (tattoos, too) from Bed-Stuy, and James, her 31 yr-old African-American neighbor (straight as a whistle), end up manning a Viennese sausage parlour in a nearby gentrifying Brooklyn neighborhood every Monday night.
